Loic SILENCE (Loic Devigne) is the main member of the musical project called SILENCE. Born in 1981 in St-Etienne (France), he started writting its own tunes at the beginning of the 1990's, but also played in a bunch of local rock-punk bands as a teenager, drummer ("Tragic Vilnius", noise-rock for young people) or guitarist-singer.
The last of of those was CACA (1999-2001) with Loic on organ-vocals, and his bandmate Fireman on guitar. It was sounding like some "Trash-pop", becoming more and more pop as the organ and the voices were more and more melodic. They released several recordings, notably an album in Asia on Rewind records. Then, when the group splitted, Loic felt like composing and playing alone its own songs.
This solo project was called H-TRANCE. However, Loic, after a year on solo, was accompagnied by other musicians in order to play his songs live, and to help him on studio. They consequently played gigs in France but Loic also performed solo in other countries of Europe, on tour with many underground bands. H-TRANCE released 3 albums, a compilation of unrealesed tunes and collaborations with San Fransisco, CA, label Jam records and Dean Hoth 's label based in Chicago,MI. For several months, Fab. Panjolles, L. Fournier (a.k.a. Raymonde Howard) and Loic formed an electro-rock, "LINE". But they splitted quickly after the recording of a demo.
More and more attracted by early folk and minimalism, more than the "pop-rock" H-Trance used to play, Loic needed to have a change. So after had been RAYMONDE HOWARD's live drummer for a few time and start a new expe-rock-live band called MECONIUM, that will go on until nowadays, he formed in 2010 his new one-man band: SILENCE. 3 albums have been released (for details on every band cited here, see DISCOGRAPHY). The fourth is upcoming at the end of 2020. It's called "Take care" and you can listen to a first exerpt on this site, youtube and bancamp, this song is named "Little Karen". All recordings by SILENCE are released on Loic's own little indie label BRUME Productions. MECONIUM is still playing, in spite of the departure Loic's bandmate Hugues Bouttebroze, replaced with Yann Bardet and currently Virginie Jackson on bass guitar. But SILENCE keeps an important place in Loic's musical activities, as he is working on his new album for months and try to concentrate everything that concerns his past and present musical projects on the internet (see links page). Best regards.

Loic SILENCE is also a "writer", even if he does not like this term: making articles and chronicles about music and art in general, he participated in many indie webzines and magazines. On the other hand, he wrote several novels, and a book has been published in 2007 on 7Ecrit Editions Paris, written in french: "Deux chansons américaines". Loic feels like publishing new novels as soon as possible, working on new material for two years. This website will let you know about these projects too, beeing closely linked with music most of the time.
